Ms. Ryland is an associate with the Firm. Her current practice concentrates on medical malpractice defense and appellate litigation. Ms. Ryland represents physicians, hospitals, nurses and health care facilities at the trial and appellate level in cases alleging medical negligence. Additionally, Ms. Ryland represents individual healthcare providers when facing complaints filed with a state licensing board. She has experience with all phases of fact and expert discovery, and motions practice. Prior to joining Wharton Levin, Ms. Ryland primarily worked on litigating patent matters before federal courts. She also has experience handling vast electronic discovery in massive litigation suits.
Ms. Ryland received her B.A. from Louisiana State University at Shreveport in 2013 and obtained her J.D. from Washington & Lee University in 2016. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Ryland acted as a hearing officer for the Texas Workforce Commission on unemployment cases from 2022-2023.
Ms. Ryland is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the DC Bar and is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court, and the U.S. Eastern District Court in Virginia.
