Congratulations to Paul Walkinshaw and Kathleen Ryland for their defense verdict in Fairfax County Circuit Court. The plaintiff claimed that our client (a cardiologist) had a duty to identify and resolve what plaintiff claimed was an active abdominal bleed based on a brief telephone conversation with the attending provider, which was focused only on plaintiff’s subtherapeutic INR and anticoagulant dosage. After a 7-day trial, the jury deliberated for about an hour before returning a defense verdict.
